Katie Southworth
Katie is the Aquamules’ leading freestyler. Since her arrival at Colby she has been one of the programs top scorers and is known for aggressive approach in the weight room. A natural athlete, Katie made the jump from diving and gymnastics to swimming full time in high school.

2012-2013
Katie was an immediate scorer upon arriving on Mayflower Hill her freshman year. She competed in the middle distance and sprint events and was a member of the 200, 400 and 800 free relays at NESCAC Championships.
2013-2014
Sophomore year was Katie’s breakout season. On the strength of an amazing dual meet schedule, she put the conference on notice at 2014 Championship meet. She made finals in the 100 and 200 free events, taking 7th and climbing the podium in the latter. She also was an Academic all-NESCAC honoree.
2014-2015
Katie carried over her success from the previous season this year. She reigned over the middle distance and sprint freestyle events in dual meets and again had a great championships. She made the podium as part of the 800 free and 400 medley relays. As an individual, she made finals in the 100 and 200 Free and swam an impressive lifetime best with a 24.41 in the 50.
Personal
Katie’s spirit animal shifts between a dolphin and a cow depending on the day. Even though its years away, she has her retirement plan all worked out. She plans on painting and selling her work in annual showcases. No word if the Louver Museum has openings that far into the future.
