Eliza Bragg:
Eliza, better known to her team as Liza, was born and raised in Darien, Connecticut. Growing up she swam for the Darien YMCA Piranhas before swimming and playing water polo at Deerfield Academy. While at Deerfield, Liza was an All-American for swimming her freshman, sophomore and junior year, and an All-American for water polo her junior and senior year. When Liza chose to attend Duke she ended her water polo career, but has continued on with an incredible swimming career working hard training backstroke and IM.
Club:
Liza swam for the Darien YMCA Piranhas during the summers under Henk Jansen, and was a part of her high school water polo team along with the swim team where she swam under Sonja O’Donnell.
College:
2013-2014: Her freshman year at Duke, Liza broke three school records in the 200 backstroke, 400 IM and was a part of the record setting 800 free relay. Along with her records, she was a critical member of the ACC team, making finals in her 200 back and 400 IM.
Personal:
At Duke Liza is studying Public Policy while receiving a certificate in Markets and Management Studies. After she graduates, Liza aspires to work in finance or attend business school.
