Jesse Ryckman
Jesse Ryckman is a backstroke and freestyle specialist from Westlake Village, Calif. Ryckman is finishing up his senior season at the University of California, Berkeley where he is majoring in Legal Studies. Ryckman enjoys the Cal community because of how dedicated its fans are. Born Nov. 23, 1993 to parents, Gerald and Judy, Ryckman attended Oaks Christian High School where he was a three-time High School All-American. He helped his high school win the 2010 CIF Southern Section Division II title as well as the 2008 CIF Southern Section Division III title. He also swam for CLASS Aquatics in the Los Angeles area and standing at 6’6″ it’s no surprise that Ryckman also played basketball.
UC Berkeley
2011-2012
During his freshman season Ryckman swam at the Pac 12 Championships as a non-scorer. He swam the 100 and 200 backstrokes, but his times would’ve qualified him into the ‘C’ final.
2012-2013
At the 2013 Pac 12 Championships Ryckman went best times in the 200 backstroke and 100 backstroke. He would’ve qualified for the ‘B’ final in the 100 backstroke.
2013-2014
At the Pac 12 Championships, he won the ‘C’ final of the 100 backstroke.
2014-2015
Ryckman is in his senior year as a Cal Bear. He destroyed his best time in the 200 backstroke at the 2014 Georgia Invite.
National Competition
In his high school career Ryckman won the CIF Southern Section Divison II in the 100 backstroke. In 2011 he won the 2011 Tri-County League championship in the 100 butterfly and 100 backstroke, which earned him the honor of Tri-Valley Swimmer of the Year.
