Italian Lisa Fissneider Goes Sub-1:01 in 100 Breast in First-Ever Yards Meet

Italian import Lisa Fissneider, who is in the midst of a 6-week training visit to SwimMAC Carolina, is swimming her first-ever short course yards meet this weekend at the Greensboro Sectional Championships.

So far, her debut in the 25 yard pool has been successful, as she won the 100 yard breaststroke on Friday evening with a 1:00.88 – beating out SwimMAC junior Caitlin Casazza (1:01.49).

That was one of three victories on the day that went to professionals. The men’s 100 fly was won by U.S. World Championships team member Tim Phillips in 47.22; while the women’s 400 IM went the way of U.S. Olympian Cammile Adams in 4:07.71.

14-year old Madison Homovich from the North Carolina Aquatic Club took 2nd in that 400 IM in 4:13.96.

Adams took 2nd in the 100 fly, swimming a 53.44, behind 16-year old Grace Oglesby (53.15) – who just last weekend swam the second-fastest 100 yard fly time in high school history at the Kentucky State Championship meet.

Homovich’s NCAC teammate William Macmillan also had a strong day, swimming a 1:37.73 to win the 200 yard free. That’s a full-second improvement upon his previous lifetime best coming into the meet.

It’s more like she is right off her plane from Italy or something. Pretty “blah” for a 1:05.2 short course meter breaststroker.
