Note: Ups refer to swimmers in the A final, who can finish no lower than 8th barring a DQ, and Downs refer to swimmers in the B final, who can finish no higher than 9th and no lower than 16th (again, barring a DQ on the low end).

After the first day of prelims, a number of teams have multiple athletes in the top sixteen. On the women’s side Emory, Denison, Kenyon and Johns Hopkins have a number of athletes returning to compete in the finals in every event, including the relays. On the men’s side Kenyon, Denison and Emory have plenty of firepower to set the stage on fire tonight. This morning’s performances included a new NCAA record set by Andrew Wilson of Emory.

Finals start up again tonight at 6 PM.
Kenyon has the edge, but perhaps not a comfortable one with denisons 5 divers. Seaver and Perez didn’t carry their tapers well, and kenyon could have used another scorer in the 50. Some great match ups though, and big expectations for the rest of the meet. Caldwell dropping to a 20.1 is big news for his 100 (sub 44 for sure) and 200 ( new d3 record). The race b/w greenhalgh and Conover in the 1650 should be epic–weiks record might well go down with those guys pushing each other. The 2IM and 500 races tonight might require a record time to win also.
