Stanford with 1 diver up on Women’s NCAA 3-meter, none for Cal, Georgia

For the second day in a row, the diving event will have very little impact on the top of the team standings at women’s NCAAs.

Stanford, sitting 3rd as a team, once again put Kassidy Cook into the championship final for diving. Cook was 2nd last night on 1-meter and qualified 4th today on 3-meter.

Current leader Georgia will have no point-scoring diver as Olivia Ball placed 39th. Cal, who is projected to take over the points lead from Georgia tonight, doesn’t have any divers entered in the meet.

UCLA freshman Maria Polyakova is the top seed out of prelims. That’ll be a big boost to the Bruins, who lost 12 points this morning relative to seeds. Polyakova could double their total points for the night.

The top-ranked teams to get a diver into scoring range were 9th-place USC (Haley Ishimatsu, 12th), 10th-place Arizona (Samantha Pickens, 3rd) and 11th-place Texas (Samantha Bromberg, 9th).
