2015 Women’s NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships Pick ‘Em: Day Two Results

Behind perfect picks in the 200 free and 800 free relay, SwimminIsGood rebounded from a so-so first day (just 38 points) with a high score of 73 points to move all the way up to fourth place overall.  Pacer4Life was second with 71 points–the only other contestant above the 70 barrier–and njr30 was third with 68.

Moving into first overall through two days was NotMorganPriestley (yes, seriously) with a score of 122 points, but no1swimfreak–the winner of day one–is just 5 points behind.  Njr30 is third in the team standings, as well, with 114.

Some of the trends from day two:

  •  Nearly half (238) of the 550 contestants picked Stanford–who got stuck in the B-final–to win the 200 medley relay
  • Kelsi Worrell’s 100 fly was our biggest “no brainer” pick so far; 491 of you (nearly 90%) correctly predicted her to be champion
  • The Missy Franklin-Simone Manuel showdown was pretty hyped up (the two garnered every single, first place vote), but the picks were nearly unanimously in favor or Missy; 479 people went with the Golden Bear in the final individual freestyle race of her collegiate career.
  • 547 of 550 people who made picks tonight had Missy Franklin in either the 1st or 2nd place spot in the 200 free
  • Fifth-place 100 breast finisher Molly Hannis was the favorite according to our readers, with 255 first place picks
  • Just six people picked Denver’s Sam Corea to finish in the top four.  The Hilltopper senior finished second behind Kelsi Worrell

The USA swimming team that trains at DU are the Hilltoppers. The DU NCAA team are the Pioneers. Sam Corea is a Pioneer.
