Colorado State Swimming adds Stitt to roster

The following is a press release courtesy of Colorado State Swimming & Diving:

Head Coach Christopher Woodard announced the addition of Nina Stitt on Monday. Stitt will join the Rams’ swimming & diving roster for the 2015-16 season.

“Nina brings toughness and a positive attitude — two things that are vital to building our endurance group,” Woodard said. “She has recovered well from injuries and is starting to take some strides in the pool with the help of her coach, Chris Pfaffenroth, at Tualatin Hills.”

Stitt will be a 2015 graduate of Sunset High School in Portland, Ore., where as a team captain, she has helped the Apollos to two-consecutive Metro League district titles. This past season, she was her league’s top performer in two individual events — the 200 IM (2:05.97) and 100 Breaststroke (1:04.74) –f also competing in the 400 IM, 200 Breaststroke, 200 Freestyle and 500 Freestyle.

She was named a Senior Sectional qualifier in seven events, and as a junior in 2014, was her team’s MVP. Out of the pool, Stitt is a three-time Metro League All Star Academic Award recipient and a two-time Scholar Athlete. She also competes for the Tualatin Hills Thunderbolts. Stitt, who intends to study biology at CSU, is the daughter of Kathy and Alan Stitt.

She is the eighth addition to next fall’s roster, joining Ida Donohue, Mackenzie Halligan, Kelsey Lawton, Nicole Sisco, Tonica Thomas, Ryli Waisanen and Flori Witenstein — who each signed National Letters of Intent in November.
