American swimming star Missy Franklin was in New York last week on her school’s spring break, and appeared on The Today Show to talk about her final college season and her decision to go pro.
Franklin had a full interview with Matt Lauer of The Today Show last Monday, but first stopped in to talk briefly with Cheryl Preheim.
Franklin had, of course, already officially announced her decision to go pro a day earlier, hiring an agent the day after helping Cal win the NCAA title.

NYC must be freezing…if a Colorodian is complaining about the cold.
Oh my God, Bobo! I’m in Boston, and I can tell you it has been a VERY cold winter in the northeast US! We get excited now when the temp is above freezing!
I think having Missy around all the time would encourage anybody to be their “best self”! She is such a great role-model! USS is so lucky to have her!
Between advertisements and TV appearances over the next 70 weeks, I think you will get your wish to have her around all the time. Not so certain about “best self” but I bet corporate America thinks she’ll be good for selling their stuff.
Jared, thanks who for the video?
Please cite your sources. 🙂
Nothing new in that video. The headline “Missy Franklin announcement in NYC” is weird.
Missy is very cold. The winter is still not over in New York? 🙂
And do people present all around know at least Missy? I hope so.
