Video: Dominique Bouchard – I’ll Try And Get On The Podium At The Pan Am Games

Dominque Bouchard is quickly emerging as one of the top backstrokers in the nation with plenty of international talent to make a final at Pan Ams and Worlds this summer.

Bouchard isn’t just looking at the finals however, she’s hoping to medal at the Pan Am Games. Bouchard, who trains at the University of Missouri and was a very successful collegiate swimmer there, qualified to swim the 100 and 200 back at both Pan Ams and worlds this summer.

At the 2015 Canadian Trials Bouchard took an upset victory over Hilary Caldwell in the 100. At the touch Bouchard was a 1:00.20 to Caldwell’s 1:00.54. It was then on the first day that she solidified a spot on the worlds roster.

Bouchard, who swam with the Oakville Aquatic Club, took one more upset victory over Caldwell in the 200 backstroke. There she was a 2:09.05.

With her 200 time, Bouchard is currently ranked third in the world this year. Her 100 ties her at sixth with American Natalie Coughlin.
