Video Interview: Lochte and Phelps had a bet about Phelps’ Comeback

Video produced by Coleman Hodges.

Reported by Loretta Race.

Conor Dwyer leads the way this morning in the men’s edition of the 200 freestyle; he was the only swimmer of the morning to dip beneath the 1:50-threshold, registering a swift 1:49.31.  SwimMAC Elite’s Ryan Lochte wound up as the 2nd seed today with his swift 1:50.04.  Look for him to shave off a few seconds tonight, as his fastest time this year thus far was the 1:47.78 at the Aquatic Super Series earlier this year.  The Netherlands’ Dion Dreesens’ clocking of 1:50.32 was next for 3rd seed, a time which is just off his Austin swim of 1:50.04.  Club Wolverine Elite’s Michael Klueh nabbed the 4th seed in 1:51.11 and will be joined by Tyler Clary (1:51.21), Craig Hamilton (1:51.90), Michael McBroom(1:52.13) and Belgian Emmanuel Vanluchene (1:52.29) in tonight’s final.
