A day after his electric World Record in the men’s 100 meter breaststroke in London (57.92), footage of Adam Peaty’s swim has been available, but not fantastic.
On Saturday, however, British Swimming stepped in and posted on its official YouTube account the best video yet to demonstrate Peaty’s impressive and lightning-quick breaststroke technique.
Brilliant idea to edit the race to a couple of snippets. 57 seconds is far too long to have to watch an entire 100 m breaststroke race.
Very modern stroke. Super small kick high legs–>very little resistance.
That’s why he has such big guns, his breaststroke is very arm driven, kinda like Felipe Franca.
Would agree. High hips, narrow kick and you can see his elbow tuck in a lot further forward than most swimmers do, hence why his stroke tempo can stay high. Others bring their elbow back and in to almost their ribcage and Peaty’s elbows come in under his head.
Sure, they cut out the turn so we can’t see he took SIX dolphin kicks off the wall!!!
Just kidding, British fans, don’t get your knickers in a twist!
Brilliant swim, Adam!

What turn!
THAT is the best video! Thanks! Wow, just wow! 🙂
Seriously, why wouldn’t they just overlay the text on the video haha
Very impressive swim and awesome video! I wish we could see his turn instead of a random blackout screen….
What a strength in his strokes!Very, very powerful.
