That was on Saturday, or day 2 of the Belgian meet. Croenen also won the 100 fly on day 3. That event saw him go 53.86 to beat Joeri Verlinden by two tenths.

Belgium’s Fanny Lecluyse won three events over the final two days, sweeping the breaststrokes and also taking the 200 IM.

Lecluyse was 1:07.81 in that 100, a time that will rank her just outside the top 25 in the world. She would come back later Saturday night to win the 200 IM in 2:15.22, and won the 200 breast on Sunday with a 2:26.83, beating the field by over five seconds.

Also doubling up on wins was Kimberly Buys, who swept the 50 and 100 freestyles. The 26-year-old Buys went 25.74 to take the 50 free Saturday, and then 55.66 for the 100 free title a day later.

Buys very nearly won three races, but Kristel Vourna denied her a title in the 100 fly. Vourna, a Greek swimmer who competes for the University of Alabama, touched out Buys for the 100 fly title with a 59.38 – Buys was 59.56.
