- Full Day 2 Finals Recap
The American team wasn’t able to repeat its day 1 sweep of the gold medals on Sunday at the 2015 Summer Universiade in Gwangju, South Korea, but they did add another gold in the women’s 200m backstroke, thanks to Texas A&M’s Lisa Bratton.
She topped the race in a time of 2:09.31, which is the National Teamer’s new personal best time by over a second.
That time moves her past superstar and World Record holder Missy Franklin as the second-fastest American in the event in 2015. She now trails only Maya DiRado’s 2:08.50 in that category.
This was Bratton’s only swim at the meet.
The day 2 medals were distributed very democratically, with Japan, Brazil, China, Ukraine, and Kazakhstan each earning one
