With the first day of competition completed, the Israeli women’s team leads the medal count with a total of 8 medals on the day. Currently, Israel has won three Gold medals, four Silver medals, and a Bronze medal.
Martina Marks, Shahar Menahem, and Noa Saar led the way for the Israeli team, each winning an individual event.
They are in a close race with the Lithuanian club Kauno PM. Kauno PM has 9 medals total between their men and women’s team, with three medals of each color.
Three meet records were broken on the first day of competition, as well.
Agnė Šeleikaitė won the women’s 50m breaststroke with a time of 32.41, breaking Alona Ribakova record of 32.56 from last year’s meet. The next record to fall was the women’s 400 IM. Noa Saar of Israel posted a winning time of 4:59.61, breaking the previous record of 5:04.85 from last year’s meet by Viktė Labanauskaite. The final record broken was by Kauno PM in the women’s 4 x 100m freestyle relay. They won with a time of 3:58.58.
