JOB DESCRIPTION
Team Charlotte Swimming (“TEAM”), Charlotte, N.C., with over 35 years of excellence in year-round competitive swimming is seeking a highly motivated and qualified candidate for the position of Head Coach.
TEAM is a USA Swimming club with a membership typically within the 70-90 total swimmer range that utilizes lane space at the Mecklenburg County Aquatic Center (“MCAC”) in uptown Charlotte, the primary aquatic center within the Charlotte area. (Beginning in 2016 TEAM will operate out of a newly renovated MCAC.) The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, passion for the sport of swimming and a demonstrated ability to motivate swimmers of all ages and abilities while working and communicating well with parents.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
1. Develop and implement a seasonal training plan for the senior groups and assist with other groups as needed.
2. Effectively communicate with parents, athletes, coaching staff, coaches of other year-round programs, through verbal and written communications.
3. Conduct parent/athlete meetings.
4. Oversee meet directing, meet entries, roster management, tracking attendance and team website/newsletter content development. 5. Attend monthly coaches and board meetings and scheduled meets.
REQUIREMENTS
- Prefer candidate with experience in at least one of the following categories: (a) Olympic or college level swimming, as participant or coach, (b) leading a year-round competitive swim program, or (c) a highly ranked, competitive, year-round age group swim program.
- USA Swimming Certified Coach in good standing.
- All certifications, CPR/First Aid/Water Safety/Level 2 Background Check/Athlete Protection Training must be up to date.
- Minimum of ASCA Level 2 certification with at least 10 years of competitive coaching experience and a proven record of developing talent including developing talent for the collegiate level.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
- Knowledge of the Team Unify and Hy-Tek systems.
COMPENSATION
Highly competitive salary and bonus opportunity commensurate with experience. TEAM pays travel meet expenses, professional dues and provides a budget for continuing education.
