Etobicoke Relay Team Crushes Fourth Canadian Age Group Record

This season a quartet of young Canadian talent hailing from Etobicoke reset four national medley relay records in the boys 13-14 age group.

The first record the four broke was the short course 4x100m medley relay record in early June. There Richie Stokes, Alexander Milanovich, Ray Yang, and Riley Loewen lowered the record to 3:59.48.

Not long after the four broke the other short course medley record, the 4x50m medley relay, with a 1:51.27.

It wasn’t long until they took their talents to the big pool and broke their first major long course record of the season. In early July at the 2015 Ontario Provincial Championships the boys put together a time of  1:53.94 in the long course 4x50m medley relay in order to claim gold and tie the Canadian mark.

The University of Calgary Swim Club boys set a 1:53.94 record 10 years ago back in 2005.

That just left the long course 4x100m medley record for the boys to tackle. That record was held by the University of Calgary Swim Club with their 4:08.30 they swam 10 years ago in 2005.

At the 2015 Canadian Age Group Championships, the four boys ended the meet with a silver medal and new Canadian record in the long course 4x100m medley relay. With their time of 4:07.33 they took almost a full second off the previous mark.

The Etobicoke relay team now holds every single Canadian medley relay record in the 13-14 category.
