Oceania Contingent Shares Experiences from World Championships (Video)

The Reporters’ Academy has put together a collection of video interviews to tell the stories of Oceania’s swimmers at the 2015 FINA World Championships in Kazan, Russia. The swimmers in these videos represent the Cooks Islands, Samoa, and Papua New Guinea.
Swimming for the Cook Islands
Tracy Keith-Matchitt, Temaruatu Strickland, and their coach Horst Miehe represented the Cook Islands at the 2015 FINA World Championships in Kazan. In this video, they talk about preparations and training for the event.

Samoan Teammates
In this video, Samoan National Teamers Evelina Afoa, Winter Heaven and Brandon Schuster talk about what it means to represent their country at the World Championships. They tell us about the mental side of things and how they relax, have fun, and enjoy themselves at international competition because that’s the most important thing.

PNG Master & The Apprentice – Ryan Pini & Sam Seghers

Ryan Pini and Sam Seghers were members of the 4×100 mixed medley relay for ​Papua New Guinea at the 2015 FINA World Championships. Pini led off that relay, recording a 56.38 100m backstroke split. Seghers threw down a 56.07 split on the fly leg.
