Jake Herremans, from Rockford, Michigan, has elected to stay in-state for his collegiate career with a verbal commitment to the Wolverines for 2016-17, he announced via Twitter today:
The Rockford High School senior is a two-time MHSAA D1 Boys Swim and Dive state champion, winning in 2014 with 458.00 points and in 2015 with a record-breaking 528.45 points. According to mlive.com, Herremans has also been known to swim a leg on the Rockford 4×50 free relay, and his splits weren’t that far off those of the other swimmers.
Herremans is a two-time NISCA/Speedo Boys One Meter Diving All-American, winning the award for both his sophomore and junior seasons. At the 2015 National Championships, he made semi-finals in both the 16-18 Boys 1m J.O and the 16-18 Boys 3m J.O, finishing 27th with 434.45 points and 31st with 458.05 in the respective events.

And again at a 6 dive meet at Grand Haven High School, in which he broke the pool record with a score of 367:
Michigan scored only 3 points in three diving events at 2015 B1G Championships, and while the men won the team title by 137 points, diving was one of the Wolverines’ weaker areas.
Happy to see a Rock Ram represent the Maize and Blue. Looking forward to a great senior season with you Jake!
