A Wisconsin swimming instructor has been charged with first degree sexual assault after admitting to touching a 3-year-old inappropriately, Wisconsin’s WISN – Milwaukee reports.
WISN reports that 48-year-old Michael Pipp was hired by a Hartland, Wisconsin family to teach their child how to swim, and allegedly abused the child sexually.
Pipp reportedly worked for the family for the past two summers, giving swimming lessons to the now-3-year-old child in the pool at the family’s house.
A follow-up report by WISN interviews the child’s mother, who says the child was acting out, then claimed that Pipp had touched him inappropriately.
Pipp is now facing a first degree sexual assault charge, and WISN reports that he confessed to the crime.
Pipp had also worked at several schools in the area, including an elementary school in the Swallow School District. WISN adds that he was an employee at the Hadfield Boys and Girls Club between 2008 and 2012, and their video report suggests there may be more alleged victims in addition to the 3-year-old in question.
“We hired him to keep our kids safe in the water because my son didn’t know how to swim and I wanted him to be safe,” the mother told WISN. “The guilt that I carry is that I hired this man and trusted him with my children.
“I have a lot of faith in the justice system. (I) hope that justice is served to the crime that he confessed to committing.”
