HAMILTON – Colgate Swimming and Diving put the finishing touches on a solid opening weekend of competition as the inaugural Colgate Fall Classic came to a close Saturday at Lineberry Natatorium.
For the men, Dominic Wilkins turned in a pair of top five finishes in the 1650 free (2nd) and 499 IM (5th) while Trey Johnson posted a pair of fourth place results in the 100 and 200 breast competitions.
On the women’s side, Morgan Cohara claimed three individual events to lead the Raider women Saturday, winning the 200 free, 100 back and 200 back competitions. Cohara was also part of the women’s 400 free relay that placed second.

Men’s Highlights
– Wilkins took second in the 1650 free, posting a time of 16:53.92.
– Wilkins also placed fifth in the 400 IM competition with a time of 4:25.99.
– Colgate went 4-5 in the 100 free with Andrew Hacker taking fourth (49.70) and Carter Christensen placing fifth (49.75).
– Hacker also took fifth in the 200 free with a result of 1:47.18.
– Trey Johnson claimed fourth in the 100 (1:02.86) and 200 (2:31.91) breast races.
– Colgate took third in the 400 free relay. The grouping of Christensen, Milos Gak, Paul Kersjes and Andrew Hacker turned in a time of 3:19.26.
– The Raiders placed fourth in the 200 medley relay. The pairing of Danny Graham, Johnson, Max Michael and Hacker, completed the event with a time of 1:42.20.
– Tommy Fretz placed fourth in the 3 meter diving competition, posting a finals score of 142.65.
Women’s Highlights
– It was a 1-2-3 finish for the Raiders in the 200 free, with Cohara taking first (1:53.89), Lindsey Sagasta placing second (1:59.16) and Megan Gallagher claiming third (1:59.56).
– Cohara was also victorious in the 100 back (58.04) and 200 back (2:08.91) events. Flora Hanson placed third in the 200 back (2:11.30).
– The Raiders placed second in the 400 free relay. Olivia Castro, Cohara, Gallagher and Sagasta teamed up to post a time of 3:39.01.
– Michelle Dols took first in the 1650 free with a time of 17:56.13. Courtney Gilroy claimed fourth in the race with a time of 18:44.65.
– Colgate posted a third-place result in the 200 medley relay. The pairing of Cohara, Cammie Kirby, Silverman and Sagasta fashioned a time of 1:51.06
– Erica Silverman posted a pair of top four finishes, placed third in the 400 IM (4:40.45) and fourth in the 100 butterfly (59.44).
– It was 3-4 finish for the Raiders in the 100 free with Gallagher taking third (54.59) and Sagasta placing fourth (54.72).

“What an outstanding day of competition for the Raiders. I am so impressed with the depth of our team and the racing we put together this weekend. This was the first time we did the fall classic meet and I am pleased with the results.
“It was great way start the a busy fall semester of racing for us. This was the first of seven weekends in a row of competition.
“I really need to thank our coaching staff for their hard work this weekend. Justin, Katrice and Elli worked very hard to get our team ready and ran an outstanding competition.
