Missouri State Nabs Omaha Breaststroker Monica Blake

Missouri State Head Coach Dave Collins has been hard at work, gathering commitments from all over the Midwest this week who should immediately make an impact at the conference level.

Monica Blake is a breaststroke specialist who has finished as high as second place for the 100 breaststroke in the state of Nebraska while representing Gross Catholic High School.  She is also a Futures qualifier in the 100, and at the 2015 Spring Region VIII Sectional Meet at Jenks was able to score with 11th place in the 100 and a 15th place finish in the 200 breast while representing Swim Omaha.

Monica’s coach Docker Hartfield says “Her work ethic and character make her the consummate team addition.”

Monica’s best times (SCY):

100 breast 1:05.51

200 breast 2:24.25

200 IM 2:12.44

Monica had this to say about her future with the Bears: “I am so excited to be a part of the Bear family next year! The team is extremely nice and fun to be around.  I can’t wait to swim with them for my four years at Missouri State!”
