Missouri State has picked up yet another standout from the Midwest to strengthen the chances of extending their Missouri Valley Conference title streak even further. Kansas City Swim Academy’s Sarah Allegri gave her verbal commitment this week, adding A-final power to their roster in the backstroke and sprint freestyle events.
Representing KCSA, Sarah was fourth place at the 2015 Jenks Region VIII Sectional in the 200 back, has returned for finals at NCSA Junior Nationals, and qualified for USA Winter Juniors in the LCM 100 and 200 back.
Sarah has also earned her name for herself in the Kansas high school swimming scene while representing Shawnee Mission East. She was a three time All-Metro selection and had the honor of being part of an All-American relay for the Lancers.
Her coach Mary Jo Klier had this to say about her choice:
“Sarah will be a definite asset for Missouri State. She is a very hard worker with a lot of natural speed. She is a real team player and is famous on our team for her very outgoing personality. Rarely has anything but a smile on her face. I will really miss her next year but I’m really looking forward to her collegiate career.”
Sarah plans to pursue a degree in Biology at MSU, and hopes to get into the Missouri State’s Honors College.
“I am beyond excited to go to Missouri State because they are such a strong school not only academically but also athletically. They offer great opportunities for me as an athlete and also for me as a student. The team is amazing and so are the coaches, Dave and Chelsea! I am happy because I feel like I have picked a place where I know I can improve.”
