DAY 2
Day two in Lawrence, Kansas did not disappoint as the battle between the women of Kansas University and Denver continued. Winning 5 of 9 events Saturday, including both relays, the Denver Pioneer women ultimately defeated the Kansas University Jayhawks 188-162. Denver women beat the Missouri State Bears 279-67 while the Kansas women also beat Missouri State 277-69.
The Denver men took 7 of 9 events and broke 2 pool records Saturday on their way to a win against Missouri State 243-98.

Highlights
- Denver opened the day with a 2 second win in the 200 free relay in 1:30.90 with the team of Johanna Roas (23.78), Zoe Huddleston (23.54), Lauren Moden (23.63) and Morgan Wice-Roslin (23.70).
- KU’s senior Chelsie Miller dominated the 400IM in 4:18.37, winning the event by nearly four seconds and breaking her own pool record. Denver swimmers Maddie Myers (4:22.24), Bailey Andison (4:26.15) and Morgan McCormick (4:27.87) slotted in behind her in 2nd, 3rd and 4th place, keeping the event points close. Missouri State’s Josie Pearson finished in 5th with a 4:28.95, which places her tied for 3rd on MSU’s top times list. Miller also won the 500 freestyle (4:57.44), bringing her wins to 4 for the meet (she won the 200 fly and 200 IM yesterday).
- KU’s Haley Molden took the 100 free (51.78) with Lauren Moden (52.20), Zoe Huddleston (52.21) and Morgan Wice-Roslin (52.74) scoring for Denver.
- KU’s divers Graylyn Jones and Nadia Khechfe took 1st and 2nd, scoring crucial points for the Jayhawks
- Morgan McCormick of Denver cruised to a nearly 4 second win in the 200 back in 1:59.43.
- Denver’s Johanna Roas picked up her second won of the meet in the 100 fly (56.63). She won the 200 freestyle yesterday.
MEN
Denver 243, Missouri State 98
Denver and Missouri State men shared in breaking three pool records today. Denver’s 200-yard freestyle relay team of Ray Bornman (21.05), Kyle Robrock (19.89), Tim Cottam (21.04) and Anton Loncar (21.04) went 1:22.83, breaking the old record of 1:22.97 set by Texas A&M in 2003.
Loncar returned in the 200 backstroke to win handily in 1:47.49, setting a new pool record and Missouri State’s freshman Artur Osvath set his season best in the 200 breaststroke, grabbing the pool record with his win in 2:01.94.
