Georgia 6A state champion (2014) in the 100 breast, Erin Scott of Brookwood High School and SwimAtlanta, has made a verbal commitment to Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, aka Virginia Tech.

“I chose Virginia Tech because I fell in love with the school the minute I stepped on campus. The coaches and swimmers are so connected and committed to each other, and I know that I will be able to fit right in. I cannot wait to spend the next 4 years swimming fast and studying at a place that I will be able to call home! Go Hok”

Scott holds the Brookwood record in the 100 breast, having won the 2014 GHSA 6A (Large Schools) State Swimming & Diving Meet as a sophomore with 1:04.17. She was runner-up and county champion in the 100 breast as a junior, and she earned all-county honors from the Daily Post each of her three high school seasons. Her top times are:

  SCY LCM
50 breast 29.93 35.03
100 breast 1:03.95 1:14.70
200 breast 2:20.07 2:45.34
100 IM 59.87
200 IM 2:07.53 2:30.05
50 free 24.70 28.26

Scott would have been only a half-second off getting a second swim in the breaststroke events at 2015 ACC Championships, where it took 1:03.5 in the 100 and 2:19.2 in the 200 to make the C finals. The bulk of the H2Okies’ scorers in those events were juniors last year, so Scott will come in at just the right time for the changing of the guards.
