Idaho State Record Holder Nicole Rozier Gives Verbal to LSU Women

The LSU women have picked up a commitment from Nicole Rozier from the Coeur d’Alene Swim Team. Rozier is a state record holder hailing from Idaho, and will add versatility to the team with talent across multiple strokes.

Rozier is the state record holder in the 200 IM, boasting a personal best 2:01.64. She also swims the 400 IM, with a best time of 4:21.36. She’s closer to scoring range at the SEC Championships in the shorter distance though. It took a 1:59.45 to place 24th at the 2015 SEC Championships.

Rozier’s Top Times:

100 Back 56.43
200 Back 1:59.39
100 Fly 55.47
200 Fly 2:01.86
200 IM 2:01.64
400 IM 4:21.36

She also brings depth in the back and fly events. She has personal bests of 56.43 and 1:59.39 in the 100 and 200 backstrokes respectively. Her 100 fly sits at a 55.47, while her best 200 fly is a 2:01.86. Dave Geyer and the LSU staff will have plenty of options when it comes to swimming Rozier in dual meet competition. She’s also got the potential to swim either of those strokes in the medley relays.

To reach scoring potential at the SEC Championships, Rozier will have to show some improvement during her freshman year. Aside from the 200 IM, she’s closest to the top 24 cutoff from 2015 in the 200 back and 100 fly, where it took a 1:57.83 and 53.64 to score respectively. However, she’ll bring versatility and will likely have an impact in dual meets early on.
