The LEN European Short Course Championships have produced at least two national records leading up to finals for the 100 meter butterfly.
SwimSwam already reported on Matteo Rivolta’s new Italian Record for the event, but seeded in second place behind him in the final will be Hungary’s Laszlo Cseh with his 50.10 result from the first semi-final heat. During the preliminary round, Cseh lowered his own Hungarian National Record to 49.93. Cseh’s previous best was 50.72 from three years ago at the 11th FINA World Championships in Istanbul. There was a strong indication that Cseh would improve upon his short course record after turning in a 50.87 100 meter for the long course Hungarian Record at Kazan in August.
The meet can be followed here. Keep checking in with SwimSwam for more updates.
