Koch Breaks His Own German Record in the Men’s 100 Breaststroke

German Marco Koch broke his own national record in the men’s 100 breaststroke in tonight’s semi-final in Netanya. Koch posted a 57.02 to qualify with the second fastest time behind Adam Peaty (56.84) of Great Britain.

Koch broke his own record of 57.05, which he set in 2013 at the Duel in the Pool in Glasgow.

Splits:

  • 2013 – 26.92/30.13 – 57.05
  • Netanya – 26.93/30.09 – 57.02 

His time places him second in the world rankings behind Peaty.

Koch collected the silver in this event at the 2013 European Championships finishing behind Hungarian Daniel Gyurta.
