Canadian swimmer Alyssa Davis from Newfoundland has passed away.
Just 17-years old, Alyssa was killed in a car accident on Wednesday, December 23rd. The swimmer was a student at Queens Elizabeth Regional High in Foxtrap, as well as a member of the CBS Bluefins swim team.
A service will be held on December 29th from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm, and the funeral will be held on December 30th. The family is asking for donations to be made to the Canadian Mental Health Association in her name, in lieu of flowers.

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Alyssa Davis (Sunshine) announce her tragic and untimely passing on 23 Dec 2015, at the age of 17 years. Leaving to mourn her mother Sherree-Lin (nee Kavanagh), her father Brian, her brother Tyler (Kayla), her sister Jhessi, her 2 little men Anton and Caden, her grandparents Thomas and Shirley Kavanagh, Joseph and Lil Davis, her Uncle Gary and Aunt Maddie Kavanagh, her Uncle Cory and Aunt Zoe Kavanagh, her nephew TJ, and her cousins Meghann and Tristan. Alyssa also leaves to mourn many friends and extended family. The family will be receiving family and friends in the James J. Hickey Memorial Funeral Home in Kelligrews on Tues 29 December from 2-4 pm, and 7-9 pm. The funeral service will take place on Wed 30 December at St. Thomas of Villanova Church, Manuel’s at 10 am. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Canadian Mental Health Association-Newfoundland and Labrador in her name.
