Mizzou Men, LSU Women Pick Up Wins In The Battle Of The Tigers

Women’s Meet

The LSU women defeated Mizzou on Thursday, keeping them undefeated for the season. They were led by Kara Kopcso who picked up three individual wins, and Leah Troskot who had two. Kopcso won the 100 fly, 200 fly, and 200 IM, and Troskot took home the 50 and 100 freestyle.

Also picking up wins for LSU was Megan Cox in the 200 free, and Cassie Wells in the 3-meter diving competition. Cox also picked up a 2nd place finish in the 100 free behind Troskot, and Haylee Knight had a pair of 2nd place finishes in the 50 free and 100 fly. LSU solidified their win by going 1-2 in the 400 free relay, the last event of the meet.

Abby Duncan was the top point-scorer for Mizzou, picking up wins in both the 100 and 200 breaststroke. Also picking up wins for Mizzou were Kira Zubar (1000 free), Hannah Stevens (100 back), Nadine Laemmler (200 back), Sharli Brady (500 free), and Alexa Beckwith (1-meter diving). Missouri also picked up a win in the 200 medley relay to start the meet off.

Men’s Meet

The Mizzou men topped LSU by a score of 155.5-141.5, with big contributions coming from Fabian SchwingenschloglMichael Chadwick and Nick Davis. Schwingenschlogl went 3-for-3, winning the 100 breast, 200 breast, and 200 IM. Chadwick was a winner in the 100 and 200 free, and Davis won the 500 and 1000 freestyles.

Also picking up wins for Mizzou were divers Clark Thomas (1-meter) and Kyle Goodwin (3-meter). They also won the 200 medley relay by a slim margin to start the meet off right.

Logan Rysemus picked up two wins for LSU, leading a 1-2-3 finish for LSU in the 100 back, as well as taking the 100 fly. Alex Linge won the 50 free, Brandon Goldman won the 200 fly, and Thomas Smith won the 200 back in 1:43.92, a new pool record. LSU also closed out the meet with a win in the 400 free relay.
