8-Straight: Madison Memorial, Monona Grove Earn WISCA #1s for 8th Week

It’s been a clean two months for the defending Wisconsin boys high school state swimming & diving champs, as both programs lead the WISCA rankings in their respective divisions for the 8th straight week.

In Division 1 (for the state’s big schools), it’s still Madison Memorial on top. Memorial has continually proven its worth of the top spot this year, and did it again with an invite win against #2 Madison West. Memorial got three meet records, from the 200 medley relay, 200 freestyler Elliot Patterson and future Wisconsin badger Justin Temprano in the 100 back.

West remains second, and the top 4 in Division 1 has not changed this week, with Arrowhead and Brookfield still rounding out the four.

Monona Grove also beat the state’s #2 team at an invite. The defending Division 2 (small schools) champs won the Small School State Invite, beating second-ranked Shorewood (who moved up a spot, leapfrogging #3 Grafton and #4 McFarland this week).

Monona Grove’s Erik Doll and Ben McDade combined to sweep the freestyles, with Doll beating defending state champ Bailey Bodart (Grafton) in the 50 and 100 frees and McDade winning the 200 and 500.
