Chasing Water: Elegy Of An Olympian

Swimming’s favorite rockstar, Olympic champion Anthony Ervin,  is finally releasing his memoir, Chasing Water: Elegy Of An Olympian.

I got an early read and could not set the book down.  Tony delivers.  He did not hold back.  His life is on the page, raw and completely threadbare.  Most memoirs from Olympians are puff pieces, ghost-written so blandly you fall asleep trying to make it to the end of the first chapter.  Chasing Water is the opposite of that, an intimate, visceral experience you will appreciate.

The release also gives clues as to what Anthony Ervin‘s competition schedule will be for the rest of the year, hinting at appearances at the Pro Swim Series stops in Mesa, Charlotte, and Santa Clara.

Look for the an exclusive Chasing Water Excerpt in the next issue of SwimSwam Magazine, shipping in late March.

The release below was provided by Ervin’s publisher Akashic Books.

Tony has given me the first copy of the book. 2 options: sell on ebay and donate to charity or send to a swim journalist and get an early review. Thoughts? Please let me know I’ll check this board.
