The NCAA Division II Men’s and Women’s Swimming and Diving Championships get underway at IUPUI Natatorium today, with diving prequalifying competition taking place at 10 AM for women’s 3-meter and men’s 1-meter, and at 2 PM for women’s 1-meter and men’s 3-meter.
Swimming and diving officially begins Wednesday, March 9, 2016.
Last week we scored out the psych sheets for the women’s meet and the men’s meet and we are expecting a fast and exciting weekend. The men’s contest should be especially close between defending champion Queens University of Charlotte and a strong squad from Lindenwood. After the morning’s prequalifying round in 1-meter diving, the Lions now know they will earn diving points, which will help in their quest to unseat the Royals.
In the women’s meet, while defending champion Queens is expected to repeat their title this year, there is a three-way battle for second that will keep things exciting. UC San Diego, Wingate and Drury are all within a few points of each other; Drury is the only one of the three teams to qualify divers on the 3-meter boards, which could make a big difference in the final outcome.
Here is the order of events over the four-day competition:

For those of us who aren’t very well aquatinted with American cities, what time zone is Indianapolis on?
Splash – it’s in Eastern Time Zone, same as New York. Right now, that makes it GMT -5.
Perfect! Thanks!
