Women’s Ups/Downs
Emory knocked it out of the park on Day 3; there’s just no other way to describe it. Kenyon had been steadily closing in on the Eagles taking bites out of their projected lead, but the women of Atlanta struck back on Friday morning to seemingly put a lock on a repeat team title. Emory managed to sneak an extra swimmer into every A final, while Kenyon had a couple of misses which will impact their ability to unseat the reigning champions.
Johns Hopkins, Vassar, Grove City, William Smith, and Rose-Hulman were the other big winners of the morning.
Friday’s only relay is the 4×200 free, of which all but the fastest heat has swum in timed finals. Therefore we are not including those numbers in our ups/downs.

Men’s Ups/Downs
As we reported earlier, Friday’s prelims session was one of big hits and big misses. Connecticut College, Amherst, Carnegie Mellon, Kenyon, MIT, St. Thomas, and Tufts all took advantage of others’ mishaps to advance in the standings versus their psych sheet seedings.
MIT led the morning with six finalists. Denison placed all three of their divers into the A final and will send two swimmers to finals tonight. The title race is getting closer, though, with Kenyon continuing to chip away at Denison’s advantage with better-than-anticipated swimming in prelims.
