NC State Women Already Ahead of 2015 Final Score After Day 3 (VIDEO)

You read that right. One of the NCAA’s programs on the rise, the NC State Wolfpack, have performed admirably thus far at the 2016 NCAA Championships.

The above video shows the highlights from NC State’s finals session last night. Headlining for the Wolfpack was junior Alexia Zevnik, who placed 6th in the 100 back to earn 13 points for her team and All-American honors for herself.

In addition to Zevnik’s big swim, Hannah MooreNatalie Labonge, and Rachel Muller each put up a second swim in their events, adding four more to the Wolfpack’s total. Labonge then teamed up with Kayla BrumbaumAshlyn Koletic, and Riki Bonnema to earn an 11th place finish in the 200 medley relay.

Bottom line: NC State is killing it in comparison to last year. Individually, in 2015, Zevnik didn’t make the B final in the 100 back, Moore (swimming for Michigan last season) and Muller didn’t make top 25 in their events, and Labonge didn’t even swim an individual event at the meet. All four ended up scoring this year, with Zevnik making the esteemed top 8. In addition, the Wolfpack moved up from 12th to 11th in the 200 medley.

A scoring comparison from 2015 to 2016 says it all– at the end of the 2015 NCAA Champs, NC State finished 17th overall with 79 points. Now, going into the last finals session, they have already accumulated 95 points. That’s just 11 points out of a tie for 9th between Arizona and Missouri, and 16 more points than they scored at the entire meet last season.

The Wolfpack are going to sail past the 100 point mark. With Zevnik (200 back) and Moore (1650 free) both going into finals as #4 seeds, along with a top 8 400 free relay and Muller at #11 in the mile, they will fight to get into the top 10 in team standings.

Again, best up and coming team in country. Real shot at top 10 in 4 years from a program that was non existent. ACC with Louisville, UVA, and NC State are really making some waves. Duke is getting recruits but I question the staff. We all know what UNC could be with a different staff

What is the issue with UNC staff? I’m not criticising I just don’t know what people think is the problem, with all the ‘DeSelmed’ comments etc. Thanks
