Diving GP 2016: 7 golds for China in San Juan

The third leg of the FINA Diving Grand Prix, held in San Juan (PUR), witnessed once again China’s dominance in the sport of diving.

The powerhouse nation asserted itself in usual fashion with seven gold medals out of nine at stake during the four-day competition on the island. The remaining two titles went to France and the USA, respectively  in the men’s 3m springboard (Matthieu Rosset, 457.30) and in the women’s 10m platform (Samantha Bromberg, 327.75).

Puerto Rico, with Rafael Quintero, Canada with Celina Toth and Switzerland with Jessica Favre/Guillaume Dutoit, were other nations climbing on the podium in San Juan.

China topped all synchronised events including the mixed 3m in which Huang Bowen/Wu Chunting (CHN) placed first with 304.28 points, in front of USA’s Abby Johnston/Jordan Windle (278.40) and the Swiss pair (254.58).
