Veronika Popova was born on January 20, 1991 in the Volgograd Region of Russia. She swims for FSO Rossiya.
2012 Summer Olympics
Popova was a member of the Russian 4x100M Free relay that finished in 10th place in the heats. They did not advance to the finals.
2016 Russian Olympic Trials
Popova won gold in the 200M Free and will swim that at the Olympics, but her 100M Free sell short of the Russian Selection Standard.
She is slated to swim both at the Olympics, as well as the 4X100M Free and the 4X200M Free Relays and the 4X100M Medley Relay
Popova did not medal at the Olympics.
2017 World Championships
Popova finished eighth in the 400m freestyle with a time of 4:07.59. In the 200m freestyle, Popova fibnshed just out of the medals with a 1:55.26, just 0.08 seconds behind bronze medal winner, Emma McKeon of Australia.
Swimming the freestyle leg on Russia’s 4x100m medley relay, Popova split a 53.40 to help tewammates Anastasia Fesikova, Yuliya Efimova, Svetlana Chimrova win the silver medal and set a new European Record with a time of 3:53.38
