Cal rebroke their NCAA Record in the 400 medley relay for the 4th time in a year, and 3rd time in two weeks, with a 3:28.10 National Record in the 400 medley relay.
Their first two legs (Cindy Tran on backstroke and Caitlin Leverenz on breaststroke) put them about half-a-second ahead of their pace from this morning, and they would need every inch of that at the end, as they were just .04 under the old record from this morning. They gave back a good chunk of time on the butterfly (Sara Isakovic) and freestyle (Katherine Raatz) legs, but still were faster overall.
What’s better is that the did it without 50-yard champion Liv Jensen, which means that they could have legitimately jumped all the way to 3:26 had she been a part of it.
