Matt Grevers and his wife Annie are expecting a baby, according to Grevers’ Instagram account.
The baby is due around Thanksgiving, a strategic plan for the two, as Matt has hopes of making the team for Rio.
“We’re both excited to start one, but we want to wait after trials and after the Olympics,” the two-time Olympian said. “I would love to start a family now, but if it’s two weeks before the race, and they need 2 a.m. feedings, I think I’d want Annie to take care of it. As horrible as this sounds, I need to sleep for the race. And she was like, ‘Yeah, we’ll just wait.’ And I was like, ‘OK good!’” (source: US Weekly)
Matt and Annie met back in 2007 while training for the 2008 Olympics. Annie Chandler is a former NCAA Champion in the 100 breast, and also came in 5th in the event at both the 2008 and 2012 Olympic Trials.
Annie posted the same photo as Matt did on Instagram, but instead wrote #GrowingAnAmazonWoman, referring to how tall their child may grow up to be. Matt is 6’8″ and Annie is 6’1″, and apparently their baby girl already has a healthy heart and long femurs, as told by the ultrasound.
imagine if this new baby girl one day has kids with boomer
