Emily Overholt was born on October 17, 1997 to parents Carman and Deborah. She has one older brother and one younger brother.
2013 FINA World Junior Swimming Championships
Overholt won bronze in the 400M Individual Medley(IM). At the Canada Games, the then 15 year old won gold in the 200M and 400M Individual Medleys as well as a gold in the 400M Free and a silver in the 200M Free.
2014 Commonwealth Games (Glasgow, Scotland)
Overholt helped her relay team finish second for the silver medal.
2015 Pan American Games (Toronto, Canada)/World Championships (Kazan, Russia)
Overholt was disqualified in the 400M IM but went on to win three other medals, including gold in the 400 Free and silver in the 200 free. The same year, at the World Championships, Overholt beat the Canadian National record by more than three seconds in the 400 IM while racing to a bronze medal.
2016 Olympic Games (Rio de Janeiro, Brazil)
Overholt swam on the Canadian 4×200 free relay in Rio, which earned a bronze medal.
2019 World Championships (Gwangju, South Korea)
On Day 5, Overholt raced in the 4×200 free relay, where she split 1:56.26 to help Canada to a new National record and a bronze medal.
