Speedo Championship Series Comes to Roseville

The Speedo Championship Series boasts some of the top swimming talent from across the United States and will be making it’s Northern California debut in Roseville with the 2016 California-Nevada Sectionals.  This elite meet is sure to be packed with heart pounding races and impressive achievements.  Part of USA Swimming, the California-Nevada Sectionals will boast the fastest NCAA and high school aged swimmers in the Western Zone.

For the first time in the history of the series, the meet will be hosted in Northern California.  The honor of hosting the meet was awarded to California Capital Aquatics of Roseville.  CCA uses the Roseville Aquatic Complex which consists of an Olympic sized competition pool and a smaller 25 yard warm up/cool down pool.  The Roseville Aquatics Complex is also known as the Summer Sanders Pool in honor of former CCA swimmer and Olympic gold medalist, Summer Sanders.

The community has united around this event with sponsors including Buca di Beppo, Marriot Hotels, Raley’s, Mr. Pickle’s, Superior Farms, and Chick-Fil-A.  Admission and parking are free. The meet will run July 21st through the 24th.

This swimming story is curtsy of Denna Culpepper, executive Director, Sierra Nevada Swimming.

Bill, to our knowledge, the scoreboard is working now. I’ve let the appropriate people know of your concern so that we can be sure that everything is I working order. Thanks for letting us know! -Laura Crouch, CCA Media Relations 2016 CA/NV Sectionals

Hope they fix their timing scoreboard by then. It was broken this past weekend for my son’s recent AG meet.
