ATHENS, Ohio – Five home meets against Youngstown State, Eastern Michigan, Denison, Duquesne and Xavier and Toledo highlight the Ohio swimming and diving team’s 2016-17 schedule, third-year head coach Rachel Komisarz-Baugh announced today.
The Bobcats open the season at home against Youngstown State on Saturday, Oct. 22 at 1 p.m. The following weekend, Saturday, Oct. 29, Ohio will host Mid-American Conference rival Eastern Michigan to take on the Eagles at 1 p.m. at the Ohio University Aquatic Center.
The Bobcats will travel to Oxford, Ohio on Saturday, Nov. 5 to compete against MAC-foe Miami at 1 p.m. Ohio will head to Louisville, Ky. to compete in the Louisville Invite beginning on Thursday, Nov. 17 through Sunday, Nov. 20.
Ohio’s final event of 2016 will take place in Huntington, W. Va., as the Bobcats oppose Marshall on Friday, Dec. 2 at 5 p.m.
The Bobcats will open up action in 2017 with two out-of-conference meets. First, Ohio will host Denison on Saturday, Jan. 7. Then on Saturday, Jan. 21, Ohio will host Duquesne and Xavier at 1 p.m.
Ohio jumps back into conference action with a meet against Toledo at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Jan 28 in Athens, Ohio.
The Bobcats will cap off the regular season the following weekend at the Marshall Invite in Huntington, W. Va. all day Friday and Saturday, Feb. 3-4.
The 2016 MAC Championships will be hosted by Miami at the Nixon Aquatic Center in Oxford, Ohio Feb. 22-25.
NCAA Zones will take place March 8-10, with NCAA Championships taking place on March 15-18 in Indianapolis, Ind.
