While swimmers like Michael Phelps and Ryan Lochte added to their Olympic medal career totals, the Rio Olympic Games served as a first chance for many young swimmers to represent their respective nations at an Olympic Games.
A couple of juniors took the Olympic stage by a storm, including Australia’s 100 free gold medalist Kyle Chalmers, and Canada’s 100 free gold medalist Penny Oleksiak, who won 4 medals in her first Olympic Games.
NOTE: This includes all swimmers who are 18 years old or younger as of the day of the race. In some of the races, there were less than 3 junior swimmers entered (M 200 BK, M 400 IM, M 200 FL). The men’s 100 breast and 200 IM had no junior swimmers. For those that advanced to semis and finals, we’ve used their fastest time of the meet.
Swimmers who qualified for the Olympic final in their events are in bold.

Look for the women’s 100 fly record to drop – 3 juniors at 56+ probably take a 54+ to win the next Olympics
Agreed. Or at least 55 low
