Take a look inside of Michael Phelps‘ 2.5 million dollar Arizona mansion, where he and his fiancee Nicole Johnson will be living indefinitely with their three and a half month old son Boomer Phelps.
Phelps began training in Arizona after his longtime coach Bob Bowman accepted a job offer to become the head coach of the Arizona State University Sun Devils swimming program.
Initially just anticipating renting a property in Arizona and ultimately moving back to his hometown of Baltimore after the 2016 Olympics, Phelps and Johnson decided they loved it there and decided to purchase the property in December of 2015.
The house reportedly has five bedrooms, six and a half bathrooms, four fireplaces, a resort style pool and a hot tub.
“Our backyard looks right at Camelback Mountain,” he said of his home during an interview with The New York Times months ago. “You go outside in our backyard and we have orange and tangerine and lemon and lime and peach and apple — all these different fruit trees growing in our backyard.”

2032 olympics in phelps backyard???
Anyone else left a little cold by this MICHAEL PHELPS INSPIRING VIDEO?
Huh? These are realtor’s photos. Swim Swam elected to post them. Not sure why you think it was designed to be inspiring.
I wonder if phelps would ever invite Lochte over for a barbecue?
6.5 bathrooms, should be safe enough.
I was expecting a 2 lane 50 meter pool.
Not gonna lie; I was just watching it to see what kind of pool it had.
I hope they take time to understand the natural environment of Arizona (it’s a desert with water coming from Colorado). From the looks of it, the mansion has used little to no design aspects that make use of up-to-date energy or utility technology. Someone as famous as MP could really make an impact on awareness of the wise use of water in the West. I’ll bet he’s never had to think about it before now, having been raised on the east coast.
Good point. Xeriscaping in the desert is the way to go.
Love our fake grass
MP may not share your political agenda.
Agenda?
Water, water rights, water use, water conservation, and water shortages are not a political agenda in the West. They’re a daily reality. Learn something.
Replace all the grass with solar panels, throw up a wind Mill, get some rain collection barrels for those rare occasions where they get a heavy rain.
They did however get a white house so it won’t absorb as much heat.
Phoenix actually sits on large aquifers that have replenished since CAP waters from the Colorado have been used. http://www.azcentral.com/story/news/arizona/investigations/2015/03/24/parched-water-arizona-table-declines/25100651/
Nice place, but I hope Michael and Nicole add a little color to it. A little too white for my taste.
Your taste is probably not important to them.
It’s not? Well, crap, what idiots they must be!
He said in his FB post it doesn’t look anything like that now. These are realtor’s photos, not a ” welcome to my crib” show.
I think all swim fans know how phelps didn’t train very well between Beijing and London. Thus him not training well he never reached his full potential.
His regular event best times are:
100 fly 49.82
200 fly 151.51
100 free 47.51
200 free 142.96
200 IM 154.16
400 IM 403.84
What do you guys think phelps could have done if he fully trained those years between Beijing and London and kept his “regular” program?? (If he solely concentrated on 1-2 events instead of 6-8 he would have been faster so that’s a whole different discussion)
I think it was probably possible with fully training and dedication and passion between Beijing and… Read more »
I think the 200 free and maybe 200 fly are a little too ambitious, but I think the others were achievable with super suits
Plenty of interviews back in the day where phelps and bowman said that they hoped it get in the 150 range in 200 fly at Beijing but the goggle incident probably prevented that
You can’t say that he didn’t reach his full potential. He CLEARLY did by winning 8 gold medals at Beijing. That was his prime so you can’t get any better than that.
Ummm phelps himself said tons of times then and tons of times the last few months how he didn’t train much those years and how he wasn’t happy with his results in London so that’s the very reason he came back for rio!!!! Himself and bowman said he never reach his full potential.
And also phelps said again recently that he wasn’t at good as he could have been at Beijing since he broke his hand six months or so before Beijing so his training was limited for awhile before Beijing.
