China continues to lead all nations in Paralympic swimming stockpiling 31 golds and 76 total medals to blow out their London totals with two days left.
In 2012, China led swimming with just 24 golds and 58 total medals. Chinese swimmers have also been blowing out world records on the regular, including the three-in-one special from late last week.
Ukraine is also outperforming its London totals, sitting second with 21 golds and 56 total medals.
The U.S. and Great Britain are tied for third place, dead even with 12 golds and 11 silvers apiece. Great Britain (combined with Northern Ireland) holds a 12-7 edge in bronzes that gives them third in overall medals.
Australia, second in London with 18 golds, has racked up just 6 in Rio, and sits fifth, well outside of the top 4. New Zealand (6 gold) is hot on the Australians’ heels as is Belarus (5 gold), but Australia still holds a convincing edge in total medals. Australia has 21 total, New Zealand 10 and Belarus 6, with almost all golds so far.
