Miami University Swim and Dive Team Opens with Intrasqaud Meet

Miami University’s swimming and diving team opens up its 2016-17 campaign with the annual Red & White Intrasquad Meet at 10 a.m. on Saturday in the Nixon Aquatic Center.

This will be the first time that the team is in action after combining the programs and hiring a new coaching staff, led by Hollie Bonewit-Cron.

The men are led by seven seniors, including Lucas Brock, who was named to the All-MAC Second Team last season and broke the school record in the 200-yard freestyle. The team also will give five freshman their first meet action as well.

The women come into the season with 16 new additions, 14 freshmen and two transfer student-athletes. They are led by seniors Stephanie LeMire and Pei Lin. LeMire was named to the All-MAC First Team last season and broke a school record in the 200-yard IM. Lin finished second in the three-meter dive and third in the one-meter dive at the NCAA Championships.

The combined team will start their competition season on Saturday, Oct. 8 at 1 p.m. at Wright State.
