New Jersey Distance Freestyler Sarah McGough Verbally Commits to Fairfield

Sarah McGough of Marlton, New Jersey has given a verbal commitment to Fairfield University for the 2017-18 season.

McGough swims for Bishop Eustace Preparatory School and Jersey Wahoos. She specializes in distance freestyle and in breaststroke. Representing Bishop Eustace, McGough swam the 500 free at the 2016 NJSIAA High School Individual States Swim Meet of Champions.

In club swimming, McGough participated in the Middle Atlantic LSC Championships in both short-course season and long-course season, competing in the distance free and breaststroke events, as well as the 200 and 400 IMs. Her top finish in both meets was the mile, and she earned new lifetime bests in all her top events during the 2015-16 swim season

McGough’s best SCY times are:

  • 1650 free – 17:50.54
  • 1000 free – 10:42.01
  • 500 free – 5:15.38
  • 50 breast – 33.71
  • 100 breast – 1:09.73
  • 200 breast – 2:31.40

McGough would have scored 9th in both the 1650 and 1000 freestyle events at the 2016 MAAC Championships. She also would have been a B finalist in the 500 free, 100 breast, and 200 breast.
