NC State Adds to its Haul with Verbal from Versatile Jacquee Clabeaux

NC State has been on a recruiting tear this year. First they filled up their men’s class of 2017 high school commits before end of September. Now the women’s commitments are rolling in, the latest one coming from Fairfax, Virginia’s Jacquee Clabeaux.

“I have recently made my verbal commitment to NC State! I am very excited to swim with the Pack next year and I look forward to seeing them compete this year!”

Clabeaux swims for York Swim Club and Chantilly High School. She is the reigning Virginia 6A State High School champion and record-holder in the 100 breast (1:01.51). She also placed sixth in the 50 free (24.05), led off Chantilly’s 200 free relay (24.15), and swam the breast leg on the medley (27.61). In addition to the 6A State record she set in the 100 breast in 2016, her name is in the VHSL record books as a member of the Chantilly medley relay that broke the 6A record in 2015.

Clabeaux’ best SCY times are:

  • 50 breast – 28.16
  • 100 breast – 1:00.86
  • 200 breast – 2:17.95
  • 50 free – 23.71
  • 100 free – 51.20
  • 50 back – 25.91
  • 50 fly – 25.34

Joining Clabeaux in the Wolfpack’s class of 2021 will be fellow commits:

And Julia Poole. With Brumbaum leaving and breaststroke being their weakest area outside of Brumbaum, definitely a good move.

For those curious, she would’ve already scored in the A final at ACC’s in 100 breast. Great pickup by NC State
