Winter Juniors Qualifier Kayla Gagnon Verbally Commits to WVU

Kayla Gagnon, a butterflier from Voorhees, New Jersey, has announced her verbal commitment to swim for West Virginia University in the fall.

“I’m so excited to announce my commitment to West Virginia University! I love how there’s so much pride that’s associated with the flying WV. The team is hardworking and supportive on and off the deck, and I’m so excited to be a part of it.  I can’t wait to spend the next four years as a Mountaineer!”

Gagnon is a senior at Eastern Regional High School in Voorhees. She swims for the Jersey Wahoos, with whom she competed at both the NCSA Spring and Summer Championships this year. In April she swam the 50/100/200y fly and 200/400y IM, finaling in the 200 fly. This summer she competed in the long course version of the same events, earning lifetime bests in the 200 fly and 200 IM.

Her best SCY times are:

  • 200 fly – 2:02.44
  • 200 IM – 2:08.54
