Riemenschneider, Moya Give Verbals To Florida State Men

The Florida State men will add 2 more swimmers to their roster next season, as Clay Riemenschneider and Adrian Moya have given their verbal commitments to join the Seminoles.

Riemenschneider is a member of Swim Florida, and will head to FSU after graduating from Ft. Myers High School. Moya, on the other hand, swims for Metro Aquatic Club of Miami, and will graduate from Doral Academy High School.

Clay Riemenschneider:

Riemenschneider is primarily a freestyle, and his best events range from the 200 free to 1650 free. Last season, he posted new best times in the 200 free (1:41.84) and 500 free (4:34.31) at the FSPA High School Invitational. He then went on to place 14th in the 500 free at the Florida 3A High School State Championships.

Riemenschneider’s Top Times:

Event Best time
200 free 1:41.84
500 free 4:34.31
1650 free 15:59.16

At Florida State, Riemenschneider will train alongside Calvin Bryant, who placed 13th in the 1650 free and 29th in the 500 free at the 2016 ACC Championships. He’ll also have Emir Muratovic, a B-finalist in the 200 free, as a middle distance training partner.

Adrian Moya:

Moya’s best event is arguably the 100 fly, but he also swims the sprint freestyles. Last season, he won a gold medal and 2 silver medals at the Florida 3A High School State Championships. There, he was a member of Doral Academy’s winning 200 free relay and runner-up 200 medley and 400 free relays. His 50 fly split of 22.29 on the medley relay was the fastest of anyone in the field.

Moya was also a qualifier for the NCSA Spring Championships, where he swam the 50 free, 100 free, and 100 fly. He clocked his personal best 100 fly at that meet, lowering his mark to a 49.35.

Moya’s Top Times:

Event Best time
100 fly 49.35
50 free 21.27
100 free 46.16

At Florida State, Moya will train with a sprint free group that includes ACC Championships finalist Chad Mylin, as well as 50 free C-finalists Emir Muratovic and Kanoa Kaleoaloha.
